That's my mantra for trying to understand images of the things we see and seeing a better understanding of the complete thing they originated from on the inactive side of infinity.
The birth of ideas has always been a philosophical journey that compels one to cross the lines of active and passive infinity. Where do ideas originate and how do we give them a life of their own? How can we benefit from the idea and who can assist us in the growth of the essence of the "thing" in the idea?
I've looked back at Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Descarte, and others as they explored this paradox. I've also launched a small company to explore the idea phenomenon. It seems that "taking physical action" is the single most important step to having the idea become more than a wish. In a sense, the physical action is the "bridge" that connects the idea from inactive infinity to active reality.
Sankofa is an Akan word that means, "go back and take." We must go back and reclaim our past to move forward; we must understand why and how we came to be who we are today and the conditions we face. The Sankofa bird represents me. He flies forward symbolizing progress and looks back toward his foundation - to learn as well as to question; rethinking; taking from the past what is good and with an egg in his mouth to represent the future, carry forth that good for the next generation.
